Incremental Mines

You start with a pickaxe and a mountain full of work. Stone, then coal, then iron, then stranger things the deeper you go. Incremental Mines is a portrait idle-clicker: tap rocks, hire crews, and turn what comes out of the dark into money, tools, and upgrades.

This is early access. This version is already a full loop. The laboratory, expeditions, and cave fishing are still ahead.

Under the mountain

Five operations, each with its own cave. Stone, coal, iron, and crystal keep producing while you are somewhere else. Gold does not. Gold is a handful of clicks, and the knowledge that most of those stones are lying to you.

At the workshop

Hire miners. Spend gems on extraction, labor, luck, and the forge. Build the furnace when you can afford the pile it demands, then smelt bars or, later, mint coin lots from gold. Beside it, the anvil makes three unique tools: a heavier pick, a magnet that snatches iron shards, and another that quietly farms luck.

On the surface

A garden that does not die when you close the tab. Wheat, potatoes, bitter herbs, timber, sunflowers. Seeds from the warehouse. Harvests that sometimes come back doubled. A nature gem for people who actually wait.

Among people

A quest board with three rotating jobs. A museum with nine display cases: relics stay grey until you earn them, then they keep working forever. Fill every case and a curator pays you with a key. Perks are bought with the essence the mines leave behind.

How it plays

Portrait 390×844, built for a phone in one hand. Pixel-industrial art, not a farm-game smile. Portuguese and English in the settings. Progress saves in the browser.

What early access means

You can play for hours now.
You cannot prestige yet.
Next on the bench: the Synthesis Lab, Expeditions, and Fishing.
The UI will keep getting clearer.

How this was made

This project uses homemade tools and some AI. Here is the split:

Graphics
Pixel art made with procedural generation and hand-tuned sprites. Not Midjourney, not Stable Diffusion.
Sound
Light synthetic / procedural audio. Not a music model and not a voice model.
Text & dialog
The original writing is human. Only the English translation was drafted with AI, then reviewed.
Code
It started as an idea and prototype in GDevelop and Godot. The current HTML version was built with AI assistance -> not generated as a finished game.

Nice game. Spent just a few minutes playing it. Will likely return.  A bit unclear if my first miner actually did mine anything at all. When I hired the second I definitely saw the stone stock increase. a bit slow in the beginning. I think it would benefit to be a faster on-boarding and then slow down after a few minutes when the player is already invested. But I’ve only played it once, without fully understanding what I was doing. Keep it up!

Hum, that makes sense. The idea is that a miner starts at 1 stone per second. On the stone mine he does feel a bit off until you have more of them, or upgrades that actually push that crew.

The later mines work a bit differently, and miners are more effective there.

Anyway, thanks for the comment and the minutes played. I’ll keep this in mind for future updates.
